Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting when she visited her sister Katie in the making of the film Ladies Room. Her career in acting began when she enrolled in classes. In addition, she was offered the opportunity to appear in shows from her home country of Canada. Her appearances have been in a number of programs, including Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active, Dice. VanCamp made a breakthrough in his career following his appearance as main character Sam Dolan on the WB horror-themed mystery series Glory Days. The show was cancelled after just nine episodes, despite getting good reviews. In reality, she was swift to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. It was for this role that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and also Four Teen Choice Awards.
